Q.propagating basil

Zone Wanatah,Indiana. 46390 | Anonymous added on September 18, 2019 | Answered

Does sunlight need to be direct sunlight or, just in a window sill?
My windows all have awnings and we get zero direct sun.
I could put them outside to get direct sunlight, but it still is hot here in northern Indiana and I do not want to burn the leaves.
Thanks Jim

It should grow roots in water on your windowsill even if it doesn't get full sun. Once it is transferred to soil, however, it needs direct sun if possible, if you are growing indoors.
