Propagating a Rubber Plant

I was wondering if I do some cuttings on my rubber plant and some starters from the cuttings, if I have to put plastic over it or if I could just sit in in a pot of soil and see if it would root?

While your cuttings may still root (albeit somewhat longer), it’s generally better to put plastic (or even a glass jar) over the cuttings. Why? This provides them with suitable conditions for rooting such as moisture and heat.
