Q.Problem with Henry Lauder Walking Stick
I have a walking stick that I planted a little more than a year ago (2 ft high). It has been doing well, but suddenly several leaves have started turning brown at the edges. I live in MD and the last two weeks have seen hot and humid weather with lots of rain. Would appreciate any advice

While they do appreciate regular watering, this sudden deluge is probably to blame. You may want to treat it with a fungicide although they work better as a preventative than as treatment.
I would remove some of the affected leaves and discard in the trash. Check the stems for signs of canker as mentioned below.
