Powdery Mildew, Compost Or Trash?

I’m bringing in the house zinnias with powdery mildew on the leaves. Is it OK to put the leaves in the compost or should I put them in the trash?

Definitely they should go in the trash. Any diseased plants should go in the trash rather than the compost pile.
