Q.Potted Trees. Which Is Best To Grow To 7-8ft And How Big Should The Pot Be?

Zone Cheshire | Anonymous added on May 6, 2021 | Answered

The tree would be in the corner of the garden which is fairly shaded for around 70% of the day. We would like it to grow to around 7-8ft high. Would like something that would encourage birds into the garden if possible.

You didn't mention the size of the tree you'll be purchasing. If it's two or three feet to begin with, a 5-gallon pot is typical. If you're planning to plant an already full-grown tree, your pot should be 15 gallons. If you plant to transplant as the tree grows, only graduate a couple pot sizes at a time.
