Potted peppers plants have little mites in soil. Is there a natural solution?

After a storm there were a massive amount of little tiny insects crawling on the soil of my potted outdoor hot peppers plants. The insects were light in color. Going back out to check about 20 minutes later and could only find a couple, assuming they went underground. Is there a natural solution to eliminate them? Could not get a picture.

This does sound like mites. There are many ways to get rid of mites. Neem oil, hot pepper extract, chrysanthemum oil, and rosemary oil are some of my go-to’s.
