potted Gardenia

I need to add some soil to my Gardenia that is potted and I have brought inside for the winter. The only potting soil I have found in small bags is Miracle Grow Potting Soil for African Violets. It says on the bag that it also can be used for indoor plants. Can I use this for my Gardenia without hurting it?

Potting soil for African violets should not harm your gardenia plant. However, it may not be acidic enough. This can easily be remedied with the addition of organic matter and acidic-like fertilizer, such as coffee grounds.
