Q.Potted dwarf japanese maple

Tips of leaves are turning brown. Too much water/not enough? Am sun shade in heat of day. Planted in acid soil. No sign of pest. Please help.

It could be either, but to be honest, with a plant in a container where you live, it is likely too little water. As long as the plant is not in standing water in the container - it is a sure bet that it is not getting enough. With the temps in your area, I would recommend watering 2X a day - in the morning and again in the evening.
