Q.Pots for a philodendron
What are the best pots for the philodendron?

It depends on the size of your plant and whether you move it indoors and out. If you move it, I would get a plastic one since they are lighter. If it stays indoors you can get plastic, pottery, glazed or unglazed, it's up to you. Some plants, like succulents, that need very well draining soil, do best in clay pots, because the porous sides allow water to move through.
Just make sure the pot is only one or two sizes larger than the rootball and no more. If you get too large of a pot, the moisture in the extra soil can cause root rot in your plant. Another important feature is the drainage holes. A pot with more than one drainage hole is preferable. If you buy one without drainage holes, you can put your plant in a nursery type container and place it inside the "cache" pot. When you water, let the nursery pot drain well before returning to cachepot.
