Can you put potash in watering can instead of straight on the soil incase it hurts my cat?

It will, likely, have no effect on the cat. They are strictly carnivores, and do not eat things like this. They will only taste or chew it. It will not hurt, though.

Regardless of how you apply, it will still be in, and on the soil. Either application method is acceptable, though.
