Q.poplar suckers

Anonymous added on August 7, 2015 | Answered

I had to remove several unhealthy poplar trees from my front yard this spring. The stumps were ground out also. Now I have hundreds of suckers sprouting up everywhere. I can’t keep up with their growth. What to do?

Cut the suckers and paint the fresh cuts with undiluted Round-up. This will get into the remaining root system and kill the roots. It may take a month or so, but it will work.
