ponytail palm that is 5 ft tall

Falling limb knocked off the large head. What do I do with the head and what do I do with the exposed stem?

There is nothing that can be done with the broken off stem.

You can treat the open area with Neem Oil is you see any signs of insects or fungus taking hold.
