Ponytail palm flowered

Once the plant flowered and has dropped off and leaves dropped off, what are you meant to do about the branch? Cut them or leave it? I have 2 branches with nothing on but at the bottom of the 2 branches is a new growth. Do I cut the 2 branches off or leave it?

Depending on if the flowers where male or female you can leave or trim off.
Do not cut the larger stems off as this can cause severe damage to your plant and make it susceptible to disease and insect damage.
