Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a pompous grass that is about 12 years old and it is growing on the outside of the plant but if you look in the middle there is no growth and it looks dead. What should I do?

Die out from the center is a good indication that the plants should be divided.
This is no easy task with large Pampas Grass plantings, though it should be done to keep the plants healthy every few years.
