Q.Polyembryonic Lemon seed

Zone Zone 7a | Anonymous added on May 18, 2018 | Answered

Hi, I have grown two citrus trees from a single seed 7 months ago in a 1 gallon pot. I just found out that the two are came from a seed called polyembryonic seed and found out that the two trees have their own root system(I thought they share one root system). My question is, should I kill off the other tree and let the other tree live solo in a 1 gallon pot or will it be okay to just leave those two sharing a 1 gallon pot? They are 9 inches tall now.

Here’s a sample pic.

Many citrus seeds have multiple embryos, multiple plants from one seeds frequently happen.

I actually would very carefully separate the plants.
