Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have planted pole butter beans and don’t have any luck with them. The pods comes on but don’t fill out (no bean inside). I have also planted bush type and they seem to do better, but I had rather have the pole type, as they are easier to pick. Is there something in the soil that won’t let them fill out?

You may need to consider adding a bean inoculant to the soil. Here is an article or two that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/growing-butter-beans-in-your-garden.htm [1]
