Plum trees sick

I have two very sick plum trees. There are plenty black bulbs, quite soft in touch, appearing everywhere including the trunk. In the spring there are plenty of flowers, but fruits never mature and fall down as small black, cherry size stuff. The trees were planted some 15 years ago. I am thinking to remove them. Is there any cure on such cancer like disease?
