Q.plum trees

Anonymous added on June 5, 2015 | Answered

I bought 2 plum trees and planted them 3 weeks ago. There are no leaves or anything. When planting, I added compost as was recommended. They’ve received plenty of water and sun. All the plum trees at the garden center were bare. I have a pic if you’d like it. The branches were pliable a week ago when I went out of town. You think they’re both dead?

As long as the trees are still pliable, they should be fine. This is how bare root trees look. Mine looked like I was planting a stick in the ground at first but after the temps began warming up, the tree started leafing out nicely. Just keep caring for them as usual and they should come around. If they snap when bent, however, they are goners.
