Plants That Grow In Minimum Shade

Question

Our backyard faces south, so we have morning sun, partial shade at noon and full afternoon sun. We have a tree with the rock wall around it and want to plant some color under it. Everything I see requires afternoon shade, not gonna happen here. We live in San Antonio, TX so it is plenty hot. Here is a picture of high noon shade. Any help you can provide will be appreciated.
