Q.Plants Out Of The Sun

Zone Torquay | Anonymous added on September 18, 2021 | Answered

Hello I have new plants Hebe, Heuchera, and Nandina in a shaded part of the garden but I have just noticed that they should be planted in full sun, will my plants be alright where they are, because it is difficult for me to move them into a sunny part of my garden, thank you, David Ayshford

Actually, Heuchera and Nandina will appreciate quite a bit of shade! Many Heuchera do not like full sun, and both it and Nandina will occur as a forest understory shrub, in nature. However, the Nandina will gain the most color in a sunny spot. (In my opinion, the color is a result of stress, and not necessarily good for the plant) Your Hebe will grow well whether it is in sun or shade! I think that you are in no danger of your plants being unhappy from lack of sun.
