Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in New England and we have not had a great summer because of the rain. My pumpkins did not take and I had to go to the nursery and buy some pumpkin seedlings. It says to plant them two to a hill and 4 to 8 feet apart. Does that mean that I leave them above the ground and put soil around them or am I suppose to dig down the depth of the plant and then build up to a hill?

Build the hill and plant the seedlings. You’re running tight for time to get mature pumpkins, although some of the new varieties have a shorter maturity date.
