Planting magnolia tree

Zone Lansing, michigan | Nancykc added on August 28, 2016 | Answered

I live in Michigan. I was given a bud from a magnolia tree in Georgia that had fallen to the ground. It contains several seeds. I was told that I could plant it in a big pot and care for it inside, taking it outside in the summers. Can you give me advice on how to plant and care for it? Thanks very much!

If you know the species of magnolia you have, you can find other articles available on the site that discuss care of specific types of magnolias.
