Planting Hollyhocks

I had some hollyhocks given to me that were taken from another plant. How do I plant them in my yard?

Generally, hollyhocks are best grown from seed or young transplants. However, they can also be grown from their tuberous bare root. You can place them in the ground with the pointy taproot facing down. But don’t be alarmed if you accidentally place them wrong side up. Plants have an amazing ability to grow anyway.
