Planting Forced Tulip Bulbs Outside

I live in Zone 7a in southern Nevada and got a pot of grocery store blooming forced tulips for Easter. I know I need to leave the foliage on as long as possible, to let the bulbs build up food. But once the foliage dies back, what do I do with the bulbs? Leave them in the pot? Take them out and plant them in the ground? Our climate is very dry and hot through the summer. Do they need any water through the summer? I know they may not bloom again, but I’d like to try.
