Planting Dill Weed, Not by Seeds

Today I bought a large bunch of dill. To my surprise, they have roots 6 inches long. I would like to try and plant the roots. Is a pot or in the ground better? I live in Florida. When I plant the dill, how far down in the soil and how much greens should I leave on? Also, how much water do they require?

You can treat it like a plant you bought at a nursery, so you can leave it as is. Simply plant the roots into the soil. There should be a pale part above the roots on the stem, plant it about 1″ deeper than this. Water it frequently for a week or so until it is established.
