Planting Different Kinds Of Peppers Together

If I plant hot peppers and sweet peppers close together, can I save the seeds and replant them or will it affect the flavor of the plants planted from those seeds?

Planting them in close proximity will yield mixed results. Almost all will be hot, but you may get some interesting flavor profiles.

However, planting them on opposite ends of the garden are much less likely for pepper cross pollination, due to the nature of the flowers' sexual organs.
