How much sun do cactus pups need when first put into ground ? Do they need full Arizona sun 6 hours a day or do they need some shade ?

As with most cacti, these will want bright but filtered light for rooting. Be sure to let a callus form before you plant the offset. Here is an article that will explain things in further detail: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/scgen/removing-cactus-pups.htm [1]
