Q.Planting bulbs
I received potted daffodils and tulips as gifts. I cut the blooms when finished and left the greenery. When and how do I plant them in the ground
Also 2 of my older lilacs did not bloom at all this year. How can I get them to bloom next year.

You can cut your lilac back to promote flowers for next year. You can cut off up to a third of it.
As for the bulbs, get them out of the pot and soil, allow them to dry out. Keep them stored in a dark, cool, dry location until autumn, then plant them in the garden.
