Q.planting acorns

Anonymous added on October 1, 2014 | Answered

I just looked up how to grow an acorn in a pot. I was ok with the directions until the site told me to provide 14-16 hours of sunlight a day. Where does one find that much sun. My yard can give me 10-12 hours (and 12 is a stretch) of sun a day. Where does one find that much sun, and how do oaks grow in the wild? There is no place that has 14-16 hours of sun a day. And how do they grow under the parent oak with those requirements?

I think that must have been a typo. That should have been 4-6 hours of full sun a day.
