Q.Planter Plants Dying

Anonymous added on June 19, 2011 | Answered

Recently, I picked off some dead looking leaves from my tomato plant and my zucchini plants, and now they have really started to wilt and it looks like the whole plant is dying. What is wrong? They have receievd plenty of water as we have had a large amount of rain, and they only started wilting after I picked off the dead leaves.

Since it is plants from 2 different plant families, I do not think it is disease.

Most likely, it is a watering issue. Plants in containers must be watered daily, even twice a day if temperatures rise above 85 F. As the plants grow larger, they need more water, so while it may have seemed they were getting enough before, now they really need more to sustain themselves.
