Planted Pepper Seeds but Something Strange Appeared

I planted hot pepper seeds and I can see already a few green leaves peeking out. And then there is this strange growth: It is light green and about 6 inches high. The stem is firm, but the top is kind of wobbly, like a mushroom. What is that? I am completely new to gardening. I always lived in ‘the big city’ and I have no idea what this could be. Can you help me out, please?
