Plant Science

I have three questions:
1) What are the functions of the roots?
2) What are the functions of the stems?
3) What are the functions of the leaves?

Roots generally have four functions: anchor the plant in the soil, absorb water and minerals from the soil, store food, and create passageway for water and dissolved substances. Stems provide support for the leaves, flowers, and fruits. They also keep the leaves in the light, provide a place for the plant to keep its flowers and fruits, transport fluids between the roots and the shoots, store nutrients, and produce of new living tissue for regrowth. In most plants, leaves are the major site of food production for the plant, converting energy in sunlight into chemical energy that the plant can use as food (AKA: photosythesis). They also help the plant to respire (transpiration) and store various food material.
