Crowsfoot Grass

Q.Plant identification

I found this growing in the grass alongside our local Dollar General Store. The plant itself looks like grass and has a single stem coming up from the center with a starfish shaped bloom. Can anyone tell me what this is? It’s very unique. I’ve never seen one.

This is called crowsfoot grass! It becomes highly invasive in most places. It is neat looking, but if left unchecked will spread everywhere. It tends to creep into areas where it isn't wanted, and can be difficult to control.

This article will help you, should you choose to rid your area of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/weeds/control-crowsfoot-grass.htm
