Q.Plant for slope that is pet tolerant
Our house that we bought a few years ago was professionally landscaped and the plants are all getting overgrown (10+ yrs old). The shrubs near a front slope are probably the biggest problem, as our dog loves to use one as his personal fire hydrant. What is a good plant (shrub/ground cover) that can tolerate dog urine and would grow well on a slope?
Unfortunately the nitrogen in dog urine kills nearly everything it comes in contact with.
My research shows that Clover or Wintercreeper groundcover is more tolerant of Dog Urine. This also means that it is invasive and you many need to use barriers to contain it.
The other alternative is removing plant material and replacing with mulch or landscaping rocks.
