Plague on a fig tree

I have a fig tree that has never been pruned and it already has fruit growing, some small some big. The thing is that it has a lot of insects that are in many of the leaves or fruits. Can I prune it now and what are those insects (plague); what do you recommend I use to get rid of the insects. There are no yellow leaves nor does the fruit looks bad.
Thanks
