Pink Muhly grass

My plant isn’t really getting much pink on it, it growing in a large wooden barrel in a very sunny spot what can be wrong ? This is the second year I’ve had it and even last year it didn’t really get as pink as all the pictures I see.

It is best to fertilize these grasses at least ever 6 months. Make sure to keep the soil moist. Not wet, or dry, but moist.
