Pink growth at roots

With all the rain of early this year, the lake has risen, leaving these trees under water. I noticed that allot of them have this pink stringy stuff attached. What is this?

I can’t say for certain what that is. That is pretty wild looking. It would seem to be a fungus, though. If you can take a sample to your local extension service then they can help you to find out what it is.
