Pink Dogwood Not Flowering Pink

We bought a pink dogwood tree several years ago. It is doing great but this year the blooms are white and not pink. Flowers at the lower part of the tree are tinged pink but the rest are white. Does this have anything to do with our mild winter or improper fertilization?

Many pink dogwoods are grown on a white dogwood rootstock. If the tree got sick or parts died, it is possible that the white rootstock grew into overtake the pink scion. If this is what happened, there is nothing that can be done. Another possibility is that some pink dogwoods start the blooms as white and turn pink as the blossom ages. If this is the case, a little time will make the blossoms pink.
