Pink dogwood

I got a pink dogwood tree as a birthday gift 10 months ago. It’s been planted for 9 months and 2 weeks with no issues, I came home today to find that one or both of my dogs has chewed it in half about a foot off the ground. I’m so upset as I was looking forward to spring to see if the buds were going to bloom. Is there any way of saving my tree, or using the branches a to create cuttings?

You do have a few options here. You can attempt to graft the branch back on using this article as a guide: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/propagation/grafting/reattaching-broken-stems.htm [1]

You can plant each individual cutting as a separate tree. This article will help you here: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/planting-trees-from-twigs.htm [2]

And if none of those methods work for you, the tree will sprout new branches on its own. It may take it a little longer but it will likely recover.
