Pink banana squash

I have 2 plants near each other. It has set fruit. The first on was about 8 inches then the end turned brown 2/3 of the way eventually soft. Removed it. My neighbor had same problem with thin smaller ones. Hers on the ground. Mine are on a trellis not touching ground.

What is wrong? What to do?

Thank you. Bobbi. I didn’t think to take a picture

This sounds like Blossom End Rot, which is caused by a Calcium deficiency.
