Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy friend has a very young pine. It’s not doing so well and hasn’t been for awhile. I’m not sure what type o pine it is. At first it was turning yellow from over watering and I advised her to ease up a little. That was a couple of months ago. Now it’s turning brown. Is this normal? It’s also in a 20 gallon planter outside. Is this a sign that we need to transplant? I don’t know much about pines, especially younge ones. Any advice would help. Would hate to see the little guy die.

If it is turning brown, it is dying. Likely the overwatering caused root rot to set in.
