Bloom Forming on Phalaenopsis Orchid

What does a bloom starting to form on my orchid look like? It finished blooming 2 months ago and now has a curved shoot about 6 inches with one tiny leaf the size of an almond, and then a purple lumpy swelling about 2 inches up from the leaf.
