Q.philodendron plant

Zone like in oklahoma city | quincycobb added on March 24, 2015 | Answered

My plant is losing a lot of leaves and has grown incredibly long. How do I restore the plant to its full glory? Do I need to trim it down? It hangs from the ceiling and touches the floor now.

What leaves in particular are being lost? Older plants will start to drop their lower leaves, giving the plant a spindly appearance. Also, if they get really tall they start to look gangly too. I would recommend pruning it back. In addition, I would also review the care of philodendrons via the article below, just to ensure it's getting adequate sunlight, water and fertilizer.
