Q.pests and problems

Anonymous added on July 2, 2015 | Answered

I have a cayenne pepper in a pot. When I was checking to see if it needed water, I saw a small mushroom – just the one. I was wondering can mushroom spores infect pepper fruit and mushrooms on their own kill pepper plants?

You can remove the mushroom. It will not hurt the plant and the fruit is still edible. Here is an article on mushrooms in potted plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/hpgen/getting-rid-of-mushrooms-growing-in-houseplant-soil.htm
