Q.Pest on Zucchini
We are having pest problems with our zucchini the last few years. We plant the squash in different parts of the garden and dust with Sevin dust, but it doesn’t seem to help. Is there something we can put in the ground before we plant or other things to do? I think it is aphids, as everything gets real sticky. Is there anything else that it could be?

Thank you for sending us your question. Some common zucchini pests include cut worms, cucumber beetles, squash bugs, vine borers, spider mites, aphids and whiteflies. Most zucchini pests can be controlled with regular applications of insecticidal soap or pesticides. Since these different pests can affect the zucchini plant at different times in the growing cycle, it is best to start a pest control regimen as soon as the zucchini plant is in the ground to avoid these pest problems on growing zucchini.
