Perennial Hardy Hibiscus

I would like to know if I should cut down the stems of my hardy Hibiscus after blooms are spent and fallen. The leaves are mostly browning, but I am not sure if the stems are required for the plant to nourish itself for regrowth in the spring. These hibiscus totally die off in the winter (Erie, PA).

Yes, you can cut the spent blooms but leave routine pruning until spring. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/tips-for-pruning-hibiscus-plants-when-to-prune-hibiscus.htm [1]
