peony leaves turn brown as flower buds form

Question

leaves get blotchy brown spots right after bud starts to form. This has been for about 2 years. It is a start from my mother and I really do not want to lose it.

If your peony has already bloomed and faded, go ahead and trim back the plants to remove any blotchy leaves. Next spring, treat the peony with a fungicide to head off any fungal diseases.
