Peonies

I inherited a tall plant which I’ve had to provide a support. How do I know if I have a “tree” Peony? The plant is in a pot and I want to know if I need to prune it.

It is normal that some varieties can get really tall. If you suspect it to be a tree, then just only cut the blooms when they fade. Here is an article that will give you a better idea about pruning peonies: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/peony/peony-pruning.htm [1]
