Peat moss

I have an abundance of this peat moss in my yard. Is there any way to kill this off or do I have to rototill it and replant grass? I have seen moss killer but nothing to get rid of this peat moss. Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

Rototilling, as well as pouring boiling water on the patches will get rid of it. You can also try raising the pH of the soil with dolomitic lime to kill it off. Using all three methods will likely kill most, if not all of it.
