Pear tree

I have two pear trees, one of which is a keefer. Both trees have pears on them this year, one of which the fruit is growing well, the other the keefer fruit are smaller then a pea and seem to have quit growing. Could this be a male tree? The same thing occurred last year ( the first year the trees produced), the fruit only grew to a size of a pea. ???

Most Pear Trees are self-fruitful, but another pollinator is best.

A Kieffer tree is best pollinated by another Kieffer or a Bartlett or Red Anjou.

You can also help pollinate your tree by using a small paintbrush in the blossoms to just move around the pollen.
Your tiny, non growing fruit is most likely due to poor pollination.
Do you see insects or Bee’s around your trees? Pear blossoms do not produce a great deal of scent. Often times an Apple Tree planted near the Pears can help with bringing in pollinators.
